2016 Eisenhower
Infield Drills

3CAKLPR: Deidra, What is different about the 2016 Ike Kickball Team vs. Teams from the past?

DEIDRA: When we first started in this league 6 years ago, we had no clue about the game or about the league game rules. We either didn't show up or took run rules on a consistent basis. As time has passed we have learned how to recruit and better understand the game along with how important team bonding and leadership is when it comes to winning.

3CAKLPR: I know Ike played in 3 other leagues in the offseason and won a couple of championships (Houston Sports & Social and Spring-Klein), as well as having several players travel and play with the Kickaholicz. Has this had a positive impact on the team?

DEIDRA: Yes, it helped new recruits see first hand about the competition to look forward to and also gave returning players an opportunity to better themselves.

3CAKLPR: In the past two seasons Ike has lost several 1 point games. How will ya'll finally get over the hump?

DEIDRA:  Believing in one another and looking to finish games as a team instead of individuals.

3CAKLPR: Ike had a revenge hitlist last season, and crossed many teams out. Can we expect some more schools to get crossed off this year?

DEIDRA: Of course!!! We are not the old Eisenhower that teams went in knowing they had an easy win or could use us on field as their practice team. We have a lot more to accomplish this season and we won't stop until we receive the respect that we deserve.

3CAKLPR: What would you say the strengths and weaknesses of the 2016 Eagles are?

DEIDRA: We have no weaknesses. We are 1 unit strong. We build one another up and help each other to be great one player at a time....

3CAKLPR: Your 2016 Roster only has 4 players with more than 3 years of experience playing for Ike. Many are rookies and sophomores. Will this lack of experience hurt or help your team?

DEIDRA: Help. They would have never been recruited if both coaches felt any other way. You can't grow without sometimes making mistakes and learning from them. Doing things the same old way doesn't work all the time. We as coaches have learned what is best for our TEAM. Better talent, but same vision. We are solid, whether it be returning players or rookies. We all have one goal to accomplish. Anything else besides that doesn't matter.

3CAKLPR: Your opponents this week will be Sterling, Jones, and Aldine. Any thoughts on those games?

DEIDRA: We will leave all that we have on the field.

3CAKLPR: What do you have to say to all the Ike haters out there?

DEIDRA: What's new?!?! From the donkey, to the memes, to the trash talk. Yawns. We are used to it. Guess you'll have to come up with some new lame material for this season. We know two things for sure. You don't have to like us, but you will respect us.
